We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Children’s Community Hospice Care team for a fixed term maternity cover.
About us:
ellenor are the provider of all-encompassing hospice care for both adults and children living in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, and also provide respite care to children in Bexley. Our services at the hospice in Gravesend include adult in-patient and day therapy as well as wellbeing and 24-hour Hospice at Home for all ages. Our strategic aims recognise our role in leading the development of services to the wider community at the end of life, and we see an increasing role in education and training and as a coordinator for providing the best possible palliative care to more people and families.
Role:
You will be an experienced Registered Children’s Nurse with some knowledge and experience of community nursing, Oncology, Complex Care and/or Children’s Palliative Care. You will have excellent clinical skills and enthusiasm for working within this discipline, but being a nurse at ellenor isn’t just about nursing. It’s about being able to think creatively and really make a difference to a family’s challenging journey, enabling a child to live as normal and fulfilling a life as possible. At ellenor we recognise that having a sick child impacts the whole family, and we make sure the services we offer are there for everyone. The role is very varied, can be tough, but is also hugely rewarding.
The hours are predominantly between Monday to Friday, 8:30 -5:30 including bank holidays, but you will also be expected to work flexibly to support a 24-hour 7 day on call service when a child is requiring end of life care at home. However, part time hours will also be considered.
Posts will be subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.
Competency based training and support will be provided for any gaps in knowledge, and professional development is encouraged. An employer contributory pension scheme is available. NHS Pension Scheme members can transfer in their pension if they contributed in the last 12 months. Please note this position is with ellenor and not the NHS.
