In The Room With Bob,
Our Maintenance Supervisor
Hi, my name’s Bob. I’m the Maintenance Supervisor here at ellenor. I’m the one people come to when something needs fixing and I always say yes! I’ve been here a while now and thought I’d share a bit about myself, what makes me tick, and why I’m still smiling (even when I’m elbow-deep in a sluice machine).

I can’t start my day without… A cup of tea.
My life motto is… Treat others how you want to be treated.
I boost my well-being by… Chilling out at home.
What makes me laugh is… People who say, “I know you’re having lunch, but…”
My biggest weakness is… Not being able to say no – to almost anything.
Introvert or extrovert? Introvert. I’m a shy person, lol.
Who inspires you the most, and why? My dad. He was a great teacher of all the things we needed to know. And my mum – she covered up for us all the time, lol.
A piece of advice I’d give to my younger self is… Get a better education so I could be rich.
If you could redesign or add something new to the hospice – no budget limits – what would you build, and how would it help? I’d start from scratch and build a state-of-the-art hospice, with everything singing and dancing: better beds, chairs, TVs — everything for the patients.
You’ve fixed everything imaginable, but what’s the one thing you secretly wish would break down, just so you’d never have to fix it again? 😊 The sluice machine. It’s full of waste when it jams and makes the biggest mess – but it’s part of my role, lol.
