Laura, our Supporter Care Officer, takes countless calls each week — but this one absolutely made her day!
”When I answered the phone she jokingly said, “If you’re trying to get hold of me about a cheque – I never bank them!” So, it was a real joy to surprise her with the good news. She was shocked and over the moon!
She told me, “I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to keep this one – although I promise it will go towards charity and good deeds.”
She’s been playing the ellenor lottery since 2017 and honestly sounded like such a kind and generous person. Every Christmas, she chooses three boys and three girls from the Giving Tree at Bluewater and buys them presents. In fact, she first signed up to the lottery after chatting to one of our ellenor team members outside Marks & Spencer back in late 2016. She’s supported us ever since.
Before we ended the call, she asked me to pass on a message to all staff – thank you. She’s incredibly grateful for everything we do for our local community.
