Santa Paws: Suzi’s Christmas Letter 🐾🎅
At ellenor, comfort sometimes comes with a wet nose, a waggy tail and the occasional stolen sandwich. This Christmas, Suzi – our four-year-old black Labrador retriever cross with the softest eyes and cheekiest grin – has put paw to paper to write a very special letter to Santa.
Dear Santa🎅
I’ve really, really tried to be good this year. Honest.
Okay… I might have borrowed a sock (or two). Fine, the whole basket. I was helping with the laundry!
And yes, I barked at the dogs on TV. They barked first. Every. Single. Time.
Oh, about that hole in the garden… modern landscaping. Totally intentional
And the mud indoors? Not me. Definitely not me. Okay… maybe me. But puppy eyes = forgiven.
And maybe… I sometimes roll in something smelly on a walk. So nice.
BUT – I have wagged for patients, offered my best paw shakes, and made doctors and nurses smile on tough days. That’s got to count for something… surely? 🐾
Here’s what I’d love for Christmas 🎁:
- A squeaky toy (the louder, the better).
- A mountain of biscuits (for therapy purposes obvs).
- More bandanas – festive ones, please.
- Antlers? Don’t even ask. Last year, the antlers lost. Badly.
- Oh… and Santa? A bone. A really big one.
But really, Santa, my biggest wish is this ❤️:
That everyone at ellenor – patients, families, staff and volunteers – feels comfort, warmth and love this Christmas. That’s what I try to bring with every tail wag, every paw shake and every time I pad through the doors. 🐾
So if you’ve got a little room in your sleigh, please drop a sackful of joy at our hospice this year. I’ll do my bit too – with paws, tail wags and plenty of wet-nose hellos.
Love, licks, and one slightly soggy pawprint.
Suzi 🐾
P.S. If you do bring biscuits, I’ll share them with the humans. Probably. Well… maybe. Okay fine – definitely not with the postman. 😇
